Creative Money Box - Language Arts Year 2

Creative money boxes produced

Just wanna make a point here, as parents please support your child learning by helping the teachers in providing the things needed in any activity. Usually, the teachers won't ask for expensive things, in my case for this activity, an empty aluminium can and some cheap modelling clay will do....But, few of my pupils said, their parents were reluctant to buy these things as for them they were not important.... So, their children just laid -back and watched their friends completing the task..... Most of the time, i will be the one supplying all of these but not everytime k... :)

Ok, enough said, just a peek on the activity of creating a money box (language arts, year 2)...

The eighth!!!

Normally,i won't be sticking around my home on weekends...it's either my in-laws house or my parents'. Right now, I'm staying 2 nites over my in-laws house...well, it is just around 30 minutes drive from my house... i can probably come here as often as i like...
what do we have during iftar today??? Yes, we had curry mee together with some 'pulut lemak' to go with 'inti kelapa', some murtabak and some 'kuih' which was given by the neighbours.Alhamdulillah...

Note: the cookings were done by my SILs..... TQ... :)

Alhamdulillah,, i can control myself from buying unnecessary foods from bazaar ramadhan although we (my hubby n my two babies) did a quick tour at the bazaar ramadhan this afternoon... :)

 May ALLAH bestowed u peace, serenity , tranquility and health in this HOLY MONTH of Ramadan Along with his blessing and bliss.

The tendency to write about food is normal, obviously, in Ramadhan.....Just sharing with others yet another simple dishes cooked for your loved ones...me, myself like to read others about what they've prepared for their iftar....if ramadhan lasted for a year, i guess i will be very much a better cook..why??? i will try out all the recipes obtained from other bloggers.....hehehe... Just a peek what i've prepared for our iftar today..none other than nasi lemak.... to go with sardine roll and asam boi lime juice....**drooling**

Menu Ramadhan Day #4

Sometimes, its head-cracking to find food that is easy and simple to prepare but nice to eat.... Especially during this fasting month, when u reach home at 5 and ur child does not seem to understand the situation u are in... So have to wait for Walid to return home so that i can cook in peace...hahahha....

 Ramadhan Day #4, while figuring out what to cook yesterday, my colleague suggested something... so, here they are:

ended up with meat soup to go with meehoon, begedil and jemput ikan bilis...not to forget, sambal kicap...i am truly johorian.... :)

 Another 20++ days to go...what else should i cook??? brainstorming.....ehhehe

of independence day anniversary celebration

Last year, we celebrated independence day(31 Aug) during the fasting month.....But not this year....our school had a simple launching ceremony of the independence month.. It should be conducted last week, but we had UPSR trial held on that week, so the management postponed it to yesterday... the celebration will be lasted for more than a month from 17th july up to 16th September... This year theme...Promises Fulfilled (janji Ditepati)....Get it....No, i don't really get it...oopssss.....

Soon after the ceremony, teachers gathered for a photography session... Our headmistress is retiring soon (September)..

Luxurious iftar @ home

Controlling your lust over food when buying or cooking for iftar (break fast) is something many worry about... especially on the very first day of ramadhan we tend to actively looking for bazaar ramadhan to indulge the rest of the vices in....and that includes me..... just see what i have for break fast today.....

 tomorrow, i have to cook on my own.. :( i'm enjoying myself tasting mom's cooking today while i'm at my hometown... got to go back tomorrow afternoon.. i promised to myself to be more in control in terms of iftar... :)

Alhamdulillah, Ramadhan Day #1 has just finished... day#2 is awaiting...InsyaAllah.....

Ramadhan is approaching us... in fact, when this entry was published, just a few hours shy from the fasting month....so no more eating frenzy during the day.... To celebrate the coming of Ramadan, teachers in my school decided to bring own pot luck last Wednesday.... so me and a fellow friend, cik hasliza decided to make some fruit salad....

Everything was there.. from plain rice to laksam.... yummylicious...

While we fattening ourselves with the food, our pupils were struggling for their UPSR trial...hoping for the best, my dear students.....

Chilling out @ Gunung Ledang Waterfall

The renowned Gunung Ledang Waterfall is just about 1-2 hours drive from Segamat... Ironically, this was my very first xperience here although segamat is my  hometown  .. i have my own reason for that...heheheh....This is a popular spot for picnicking and mountain climbing activities...so let me share my day trip here...

We (hubby, me, my two kids, my two sisters in law) took off around 11 o'clock in the morning...we reached there around 1 o'clock..it was drizzling..so i just prayed that it won't be getting any heavier.... so we get changed...not to worry because various amenities, including rest shades, dressing rooms, camping sites, food stalls and car parks are provided here.... and we went straight to locate the best picnicking spot.....

Soon as we filled our stomach....

splashing time in the icy water.. all of sudden..there was monkey droppings fell from the tree...yuck..luckily, none hit us..so we decided to stop and pack..(its a sign, i guess..heheheh)

Cabin for rent, my hubby and his colleagues rented this cabin before, RM50 per nite...

we'll be back someday later... :)

 

On our wayback, we stopped to taste the local durians....

nurturing young minds- a mind mapping process

What i love about KSSR? i guess, the way the syllabus was organised....  in my opinion, it is a holistic approach... as a teacher you need to adapt and adopt the content of the given textbook and guidebook... The said two are only tools....it is up to teacher to manipulate the content.....maybe the only disagreement I have is on the Performance Standard Document.. i dunno..maybe i need to really sit down and do research on my own to adopt and adapt that document on my pupils....Up to now, i just did what other teachers do....

Enough said.... just a peek on what i have done with my pupils on the 12th topic, On The farm... a mind-mapping activity..... for me, the knowledge on mind-mapping is important, u will be using it someday later, rite.....Pls have a look...

handling your child during haircut

What comes to your mind when getting your child  a haircut???? Yes, how to distract them during that process...This was my first time bringing him to a barber myself, for  his first haircut, our nanny brought him there so i had no xperience in handling him in such circumstances...people said, getting your child a haircut is a milestone you need to remember....


He was ok at first, but then he started to cry...maybe restraining him has made him scared but there was no other choice (i think)....But that barber, i must say, did a pretty good job there in trying to console my little baby......

Hopefully, uzair's next visit to the barber will be better..hahha.. i do need to come up with strategies to handle such situation...

1 student 1 sport 1 Malaysia- Senamrobik 1 Malaysia

In response to the 1 student, 1 sport, 1 malaysia policy, KPM launched Senamrobik 1 malaysia that will be held simultaneously in all Malaysian school on Tuesday, 10th July 2012...so did my school ..SK LKTP Selancar 1...it was a fresh way to start your day at school...pics say louder than words...so pls browse thru....

Attending weddings sometimes make me reminisced those days (when i was on that dais)... it was a wonderful feeling...... It was a tiring day but all worthwhile..... But its not my wedding day that i wanted to write about here,........

 last 2 weeks, i've attended two weddings, my cousin from my fatherside and a friend of my hubby....here's the pictures from my cousin's wedding... there was no picture of the bride n bridegroom cos we left early...uzair threw his tantrum and we had to leave...it was normal for uzair to behave dat way....(sometimes u can use that as an excuse for leaving early..ahaks...)

 in most felda settlement,they seated u by gender..i'm quite oppose to this...picture this..in a place where u are not familiar with... u have to sit with ur baby alone..eating alone...with no one to talk to ( i'm not so good in starting a conversation with strangers)...sitting with your hubby will do more good, rite???oppsss...dis is only my own personal opinion....not to blame anybody...

The Rich House - A personal view...

Have u ever been to a cafe before feeling all frustrated about the food and drinks they served??? Yes, i did....
Recently, we went to the newest kopitiam in the suburb Taman Yayasan,Segamat for our supper.. once u stepped in, yes, the ambience is quite great....

 We ordered a hot curry mee and a banana muffin  along with mango juice and honey dew soda drink....
But....all i tasted was bland......but, surely, this is my own personal view of the food....
It will take me a while to come back to this cafe....just in case they will improvise on the taste someday later...

 ermm.... other dishes may taste differently...  but from what i heard, my colleague also experienced the same thing...

KSSR Y2-language Arts - Designing clothes for Troy-the-Robot..

Before dis, i have never pictured myself as a teacher...dunno why.... but its the truth...once, an auditor from a well-known wholesaler company in UK pointed out that i could be a great teacher ( i used to work in a laboratory located in southern malaysia).......well, here i am..thank u, Edith....trying my best to educate the children n myself... the great thing is..i'm enjoying myself...Alhamdulillah.... i shud give my hubby credits there for forcing me to apply for KPLI.....thankfully, i made it......

enough said, here, a little sharing of what i did wit my pupils last week..... a bunch of young talented designers they are...i asked them to design clothes for Troy-the-Robot (English Year 2-chapter 11-language arts).....Here's a peek......
