Aidilfitri: Hari Raya Feast

All the teachers and pupils of my school were feted to a hari raya feast a day before Independence day.... What do u expect from a feast???? Yes, lotsa food!!!!. and celebration too.... we started the day off with doa and takbir led by our very own ustaz....and to be more surprising.. i was asked to be the emcee of the day with Cikgu Salahudin...ok...well, there will always be first time, rite...just give it a shot...

Alhamdullillah, i have nailed it although it was not perfect but the ceremony went quite smoothly as planned....just a peek on what happened on that day...

had to peep inside to see what's happening although we were the emcees...... but really felt comfortable this way...not really nervous....:)

pupils' performances...there were teachers' after that but me.... felt shy to snap some photos...huhu

special add-on of the day...... the headmistress just returned from Umrah....Alhamdulillah....

Aidilfitri: Open House

 I love this pic.... my doter with her cousin, Muhammad Alif Iskandar during our aidilfitri open house.... dats exactly what i wanted to write about in this entry...our open house.... held on last tuesday, it was one happening event.... started from 12pm and ended at about 10 pm... Many guests showed up..(many thanks!!! your presence were highly appreciated)..We served nasi impit to go with chicken n beef rendang, meehoon/mee soup) and asam boi limejuice... thanks to my two superb chefs- my SILs.....

The food and drinks (can't forget the taste of Kak's chicken rendang and sambal kicap) The best i tasted so far!!!

Aidilfitri: Recap for 3rd

Continue from the previous entry....:) i was too busy preparing for my open house and neglect this hobby of mine...blogging:)...sorry..tried to catch up as fast as i can...

3rd day
we ventured to Penang to visit mom's brother(my uncle lah....).. we hardly meet him...once a year or we just happen to be there.... it was like a normal visit on hari raya...so it was a convoy of 4 cars (me, ayah, my two uncles with family)..

we used the bridge not the ferry...my father said the ferry was too slow :) my father's car was right in front of us...

 Before going back,we decided to taste the local food... u know, people said penang is food heaven... so we went to the famous padang kota..

me and brother lining up just to get punked!!! get it?? everything was too pricey...beyond imaginary..and they didn't follow the price list on the wall......huhuh

so we had a taste on pasembor n char kuey teow....a must if u are in penang....

my little girl managed to persuade loving opah to get her a toy bicycle and i bought her this on our way back to car...

i talked to the locals on how expensive the food in padang kota can be ...they said the locals didn't go there actually...it was the outsiders...huhuh..so no more padang kota eatery on my next visit in penang..Insyaallah...we did stop by at Batu Feringghi..just to grab some souvenirs but unfortunately only a few stalls opened...so, we just grab a few things and me..did not snap any pics there!! after an afternoon in penang, we headed back to tok chik's house in taiping....

Aidilfitri 2012- A recap of day 1 n 2

i was too lazy to write all the details happened during this aidilfitri...maybe not many interested in reading it..huhuh...i thought a recap of 2,3 days would be ok....
1st day of aidilfitri
i celebrated it at my hubby's side...in the afternoon, we went to jementah to visit relatives from my father's side...next stop was bukit sentosa,rawang..before we went straight to kg selinsing, taiping perak.... the first day was like raya-on-the move, sort of.....heheh

2nd day
we did nothing special.... we stayed home @Tok Chik's house and went for some shopping @Taiping sentral and Tesco.... i was so surprised to see many malays went there on the 2nd day of eidulfitri...i was there too!!! then we hang out @Oldtown Kopitiam before going back to Tok cik's place...

Hari Raya eve...

i;m going to celebrate aidilfitri @ hubby's hometown dis year..right now, i'm taking some time off the aidilfitri preparation...it was a hectic day.... the preparation was like a non-stop flow from morning up to now... the clock showed 1 a.m... the whole morning we went out and only got back @ around 5 p.m.. we had our iftar and took some time admiring the 'battle of firecrackers and fireworks' from the neighbourhood...
After isyak, i had my family clothes ironed and went straight to kitchen.... my younger SIL made the ketupat palas and the elder SIL made all the dishes, chicken rendang, the soup as well as meat curry,,,She's a really good cook, i can tell u that.. me??/what did i do???heheh... i just put all the cookies and kerepeks in the cookie jars.....how fortunate to have that simple job on the eve of aidilfitri..hehhe....
