Part 2 :USS trip

The writing of my trip to USS continued with our experience in The Lost World...The Lost World zone features two themed regions: Jurassic Park and Waterworld. In the Jurassic park, we only managed to ride on the Dino-soaring ride as others were not suitable for young children to ride....poor me!!!

Dino-soaring is a fly-around ride.A children's ride that spins around gently, with riders being able to control the vertical height of their carriage during the ride duration. The ride cars were designed to look like pterodactyls.\
Then, the best part of the evening was we got to watch a live performance in the  Waterworld zone... the live action plus the stage as well as the sound made it worth to watch....

A live-action performance that involves stunts and pyrotechnics, on a stage that is set within a large pool of water. We were really amazed with this!!!!

The day was really hot...feeling thirsty and hungry,we found  a halal restaurant namely Oasis Spice CafĂ© to quench our thirst and fill up our empty stomach..hahah....It was an Egyptian-themed buffeteria serving specialities flavored with Mediterranean, Turkish, Lebanese and Indian Spices..

Then the exploration continued in the Ancient Egypt...Nothing much here as most of the rides provided were not meant for young children...We only rode on a mini-car ride named Treasure Hunters..It was a leisure car ride that drives around an abandoned Egyptian excavation site. The ride vehicles are modelled to have the look of vintage jeeps. this place was very crowded with people so we need to queue up for more than an hour to ride on each ride....can u imagine that happened to parents with two little children?? this was what to expect if u came during holidays unless u buy the vip pass...surely it will be quite costly....

When our energy was almost drained to zero..it was the time for the Hollywoods Dream Parade...then..we took our time to rest along the path and enjoyed the parade...Universal Studios Singapore Hollywood Dreams Parade is the parks' first full-scale regular theme parade which takes place every Saturday and Sunday, and on public holidays at 5 pm. Running through five out of the seven parks across all zones, the parade consists of fourteen intricately detailed floats, special effects, over one hundred performers, custom musical score and the "Hollywood Dreams" dance song composed by British composer Ian Habgood.

Next, we passed the Sci-Fi City where my children and I have to sit for 3 hours waiting for my hubby to ride on the Transformers: The Ride. It was a dark ride that uses the same ride-vehicle technology as The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man, but with a completely different track layout that spans across two levels. It has giant wrap-around screens that sport photo-realistic 3D-HD video imagery at various points throughout the ride,
and has additional 4-D effects (water spray, wind, hot air, fog, etc.) that further enhances the ride experience.  My hubby repeatedly said that anyone should not miss trying this ride...yeah..easy for him as i was the one looking after the children for 3 hours whilst he enjoying himself....sob..sob... there were so many rides here such as the roller coaster ride as i would claim to be dangerous by the look at it.... but we have just to skip all that...

Then there was  the New York...New York is based on the original New York City, during the era of post-modernization. This zone features various icons commonly portrayed in movies including the city skyline, neon lights, facades, and sidewalks. This zone also has a replica of the famous New York Public Library with two lion statues at its entrance. Special Sesame Street character appearances include: Elmo, Big Bird, Abby Cadabby, Bert, Ernie, Grover, Cookie Monster and Oscar the Grouch.
The Special Sesame Street live performance...the exhaustion that my two children cannot handled..
Lastly..we walked back to the entrance area..the hollywood...Hollywood is the main entrance area of the park. Its only attraction, a broadway-style theatre, is accompanied by several restaurants and a variety of flagship shops. Being a replica of the Hollywood Boulevard, this zone is flanked by dynamic architecture and palm trees. It also features a replica of the famous Hollywood Walk of Fame. Special character appearances include: Po from Kung Fu Panda, Frankenstein's Monster, Woody Woodpecker, Winnie Woodpecker, Marilyn Monroe, Charlie Chaplin, Beetlejuice and Betty Boop. We did some souvenirs-hunting here and ended this trip...it was a really memorable experience... I just hope that the management of this theme park will look into the size of the musollah provided here as it was way smaller than the number of muslims coming here....

See you guys back in my next post...will be writing about another trip we had..:)

Universal Studio Singapore Trip : Part 1

After more than one month of silence... i would like to update this blog of mine..sorry...:)..
Actually the trip was way back at the end of January (26th January to be exact) but i didn't have the time to update it here..even my third baby was not even there yet...hahha..so now it is.... it was organised by the my hubby's colleague so we joined by paying around RM550 included the entry ticket to the Universal Studio Singapore and the transport (bus).. We departed around 5 a.m from MPOB Keratong Staffquarters...... There was a misunderstanding about the time of departure as we were told we will leave at midnight but the bus came late.... well...fortunately everything went pretty smooth except for one incident (no need to tell ya!!) after that.....

After went through strict immigration checking from the Singapore part, we managed to arrive at USS at noon....sadly .we have wasted few hours there due to unavoidable problem....
cam-whoring while waiting for the correspondent to take the entry tickets...
If u have been here before...u must have known that this theme park was divided into few sections namely Madagascar, Far-Far away, The Lost World, Ancient Egypt, Sci-Fi City, New York and Hollywood...it was more or less named after the famous movies made by universal studios, right?? it looked like, at least to me, the theme park was designed in an oval form so that you would not miss any section without going pass them....our fun and adventure journey began with Madagascar...

We tried the water boat ride (Madagascar: A crate Adventure)..it was slow and safe ride for young children... there were not many rides or activities for young children..mostly they were designed for older children and adults...so if you plan to come here, it will be  best not to bring children under 5...or wait till they get a little older...if not..you will miss the chance getting into all sorts of fun the offered but babysit your children..like me....(sob...sob...) unless you bring your nanny along...
Madagascar: A crate Adventure - A river boat ride with state-of-the-art animatronics, digital projection and surround sound, all housed within the hull of a displaced cargo ship.

King Julien's Beach Party-Go-Round - A merry-go-round ride that is themed and decorated with all the characters of Madagascar.... and also the famous building of the far-far away land...
Next, we moved to the far-far away land where we experienced to watch two exciting and amazing shows (donkey live-An interactive live show using digital puppetery technology, which features Donkey entertaining and engaging guests in conversation in an intimate theatre setting and Shrek's 4-D adventure - A 3-D stereoscopic show with added physical effects that is based on the story of Shrek and his quest to save Princess Fiona). These were the best i experienced along my trip there!!!!

There were so many mascots along the way, but my children easily get intimidated by them so i did not put any effort to take pics with them...see..i've told you...wait till the children a little bit older..

And another piece of advice.. if u plan to bring younger children..do bring your stroller....the theme park distance  is way beyond younger children walking capabilities....here is the proof..

after been walking quite a distance, they even throw tantrums....
Well, I bet this is too much of a story in a post... so stay tune for this trip part 2!!!!
