Aidilfitri: Recap for 3rd

Continue from the previous entry....:) i was too busy preparing for my open house and neglect this hobby of mine...blogging:)...sorry..tried to catch up as fast as i can...

3rd day
we ventured to Penang to visit mom's brother(my uncle lah....).. we hardly meet him...once a year or we just happen to be there.... it was like a normal visit on hari raya...so it was a convoy of 4 cars (me, ayah, my two uncles with family)..

we used the bridge not the ferry...my father said the ferry was too slow :) my father's car was right in front of us...

 Before going back,we decided to taste the local food... u know, people said penang is food heaven... so we went to the famous padang kota..

me and brother lining up just to get punked!!! get it?? everything was too pricey...beyond imaginary..and they didn't follow the price list on the wall......huhuh

so we had a taste on pasembor n char kuey teow....a must if u are in penang....

my little girl managed to persuade loving opah to get her a toy bicycle and i bought her this on our way back to car...

i talked to the locals on how expensive the food in padang kota can be ...they said the locals didn't go there actually...it was the outsiders...huhuh..so no more padang kota eatery on my next visit in penang..Insyaallah...we did stop by at Batu Feringghi..just to grab some souvenirs but unfortunately only a few stalls opened...so, we just grab a few things and me..did not snap any pics there!! after an afternoon in penang, we headed back to tok chik's house in taiping....

Aidilfitri 2012- A recap of day 1 n 2

i was too lazy to write all the details happened during this aidilfitri...maybe not many interested in reading it..huhuh...i thought a recap of 2,3 days would be ok....
1st day of aidilfitri
i celebrated it at my hubby's side...in the afternoon, we went to jementah to visit relatives from my father's side...next stop was bukit sentosa,rawang..before we went straight to kg selinsing, taiping perak.... the first day was like raya-on-the move, sort of.....heheh

2nd day
we did nothing special.... we stayed home @Tok Chik's house and went for some shopping @Taiping sentral and Tesco.... i was so surprised to see many malays went there on the 2nd day of eidulfitri...i was there too!!! then we hang out @Oldtown Kopitiam before going back to Tok cik's place...

i posted the last entry on Sunday, 19th... i have stopped blogging and blogwalking for quite sometime to give way to aidilfitri... now its time to start active again (not really that active)...hehhehe.... but i'm still on holiday till this weekend....
maybe i'll stop by @ your blog...stay tune!!!

Hari Raya eve...

i;m going to celebrate aidilfitri @ hubby's hometown dis year..right now, i'm taking some time off the aidilfitri preparation...it was a hectic day.... the preparation was like a non-stop flow from morning up to now... the clock showed 1 a.m... the whole morning we went out and only got back @ around 5 p.m.. we had our iftar and took some time admiring the 'battle of firecrackers and fireworks' from the neighbourhood...
After isyak, i had my family clothes ironed and went straight to kitchen.... my younger SIL made the ketupat palas and the elder SIL made all the dishes, chicken rendang, the soup as well as meat curry,,,She's a really good cook, i can tell u that.. me??/what did i do???heheh... i just put all the cookies and kerepeks in the cookie jars.....how fortunate to have that simple job on the eve of aidilfitri..hehhe....

Iftar on Ramadhan Day #24

Towards the end of Ramadhan, i did less cooking.... whenever i felt tired, i would asked hubby to go to bazaar ramadhan...just to grab something to eat for iftar...i would certainly cook for sahur...just a simple dish like ikan masak kicap will do....

Ramadhan Day #24..my hubby's colleagues organized an iftar at Nasi Kukus Warisan Bonda,Segamat..... It was your average eatery...but the dishes are simply delicious especially the tomyam.... this was my third time here and not once visit there, i didn't order tomyam..:)

Khatam Al-Quran and Iftar

Ramadhan Day #20, my school organized Khatam Al Quran ceremony in the morning and iftar in the evening....It was actually an annual event of the school.... throughout this week, i just did a little cooking for sahur only.... Grinning...:) less is better..heheh...let scroll down.....

All about food!!

The three days holiday last weekend was indeed spent wisely by going shopping for hari raya... but there was no photo as i was so preoccupied with my children and the shopping, obviously......i'm not in the mood to write about the shopping experiences but the food for iftar.... been at hometown meaning mom's cooking...something that you can't possibly resist....

On our way back to my parents' house, we stopped @ the finger-licking good restaurant, none other than the famous KFC....Just grabbing something to eat, we ordered a family pack....

For night of Nuzul Quran, we simply had home-cooked meal......

Iftar @ Sangkar Kristal, JB

This restaurant was featured in last Sunday News Straits Times (Johor Edition) with the heading "Ramadhan Buffet with 99 dishes". and yes, i, myself had iftar there last night... i followed my parents there as they were going to have iftar together with father's colleagues....lucky me to have that kind of chance for free...hehhe..

Anyway, i believed i could do better with more pictures and less words...scroll down please....

The ambiance was great but maybe it was too crowded.....

The entrance...we were greeted with guitar and drum beat

The performances (angklung and singing by the local disguised as 'Pak Arab"...heheh..at least i thought so)

a wide range of sumptuous food..... claimed to be 99 dishes... but i lose count....heheh... managed to taste only few of them or else i will be bloated...

 For my own opinion, the food is fairly good.... I can't possibly taste everything, so if i had another chance of going there, i will definitely eat others....:)

I was told the iftar was priced at RM40 for an adult..... it was a really competitive price compared to the other restaurant at this standard(my own opinion)... that explained the numbers of people there!!!
This restaurant, which is located near the Pelangi Golf Driving Range, also has a prayer room for Muslim men and women who intend to pray before returning to their meal . So, no worries... I've been told that we could eat up to 9 p.m so we stayed until 8.30 p.m last night.....eating desserts!!!!

Health report

"To keep the body in good health is a duty... otherwise we shall not be able to keep our mind strong and clear."

i always thought that i did not lead a really healthy lifestyle.... meaning... eat more, less exercise.... i know that is so wrong but come to exercise part, i am soooo lazy..... come to my own senses, i took a health screening.... more than 72 tests were run to check the conditions of my body....there is this laboratory which came and offered us the this service for only RM250....well, good health is more important than money, rite???

blood and urine samples were given ..... it will take for almost a month for the result.....

Yesterday, i received the health report......  and yes, i am nervous to know the truth...what if, the report came and stated that i have symptoms of cancer...nooooooo.... If you treat every situation as a life and death matter, you'll die a lot of times. so,just embrace it.....

Alhamdullillah, the result came out as normal blood test results.... everything falls under the specified range although i need to look into my sodium and chloride content in the blood.. they almost reached the minimum and maximum limits....meaning, i ate more salt but drank less water...time to change....

 So the report was divided into several categories namely:

1. Cardiovascular system (about your heart)
2. Renal function tests (about your digestive system)
3. Diabetes screening
4. Thyroid disease screening
5. Liver function tests
6. Tumor markers screening (for detection of ovary, breast, colon and liver cancer)
7. Hepatitis Screening
8. STD screening (sexually transmitted disease)
9. Bone and joints
10. Blood grouping
11. Full blood picture
12. Urine feme

In the mood for celebration

In conjunction with the 55th anniversary of the independence day,the school organized "Class Patriotism Competition".... so yesterday i was really in the mood of doing that...
The theme is based on patriotism so what i did just to put up Malaysian flags around the class....
so easy,,,especially with the help of a school worker...TQ KAK INA.....

not me..... all the climbing was done by kak ina.... tq again...

 Ok..... getting near to the middle of ramadhan al- mubarak....
